Mexican-born cinematographer Xavier Grobet, ASC’s career is as diverse as it is impressive. His credits span the gamut of genres.

In 2018 Grobet worked on one of the first series created for Facebook Watch,  Sorry For Your Loss, starring Elizabeth Olsen and is currently working on the series Brooklyn for HBO.

Grobet recently shot Mike White’s second feature film Brad’s Status, starring Ben Stiller and Michael Sheen, he previously collaborated with Mike White on the acclaimed HBO show, Enlightened, starring Laura Dern.

Other  credits include: Tina Fey’s Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, based around the events of veteran war reporter Kim Baker’s book, The Taliban Shuffle and  the feature film Focus, starring Will Smith, with frequent collaborators Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, as well as I love You Phillip Morris; The CW pilot for Jane the Virgin; episodes of Netflix’s Marco Polo, directed by Dan Minahan, and the lavish Dynasty pilot for the CW and Director Brad Silberling.

The feature film Music and Lyrics, directed by Marc Lawrence, starring Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant, the Back Up Plan with Jennifer Lopez, and What to Expect when you’re Expecting, also starring Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz. Also collaborated on the animated feature film Monster House, directed by Gil Kennan and produced by Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg.

In several occasions Grobet has collaborated with Director Rodrigo Garcias, the pilot for HBO’s Big Love, the feature film 9 Lives, starring Holly Hunter, Glen Close, Dakota Fanning and Sissy Spacek. Mother and Child, starring Annette Bening and Naomi Watts.

The Big break in Grobet’s career came when he approached the brilliant, eccentric artist Julian Schnabel to shoot his second film Before Night Falls, with Javier Bardem, Johnny Depp and Sean Penn, the movie went on to collect numerous awards and nominations, including Best Cinematography at the 2001 Independent Spirit Awards.
